How to Copy Layers from One Design to Another

Quickly copy and paste layers between designs for faster editing and consistent visuals across your ad campaigns.

Updated this week

Need to reuse elements from one design in a new project?

You can easily copy and paste individual layers or entire design content between different Bannersnack projects—saving time and ensuring design consistency across your banners or social media visuals.

How to Copy Layers Between Designs

To move design elements between projects:

  1. Select the layers you want to copy using either:

    • Ctrl + Click to select multiple individual elements.

    • Click + Drag to select a group of elements.

  2. Once selected, press Ctrl + C to copy.

  3. In the same browser tab, create a new design and choose your desired size.

  4. Once the canvas loads, press Ctrl + V to paste the copied layers.

Pro Tip: Copy-pasting layers is ideal for duplicating layouts across multiple banner sizes or ad formats. It works best when done within the same browser session.

User selects multiple layers in a banner design, copies them, and pastes the elements into a new design project within the Bannersnack editor.

Can I Copy Layers in the Generator?

We don’t recommend copying layers while using the Generator tool.

This feature sources elements directly from the design library, which may result in improperly linked or broken assets—leading to potential crashes or corrupted content.

Pro Tip: For multi-size banner sets, it's better to start from a template in the Generator and customize within its editor instead of pasting layers from outside projects.
