How to Use Loop Count and Stop Slide

Learn how to use Loop Count and Stop Slide to control animation duration, create seamless loops, or stop slides at a specific point.

Updated over 3 weeks ago

When creating animated designs in Bannersnack, the Loop Count and Stop Slide features give you complete control over how many times your design plays. This lets you extend animation duration without duplicating layers or, alternatively, stop playback exactly when you want.

1. Using Loop Count

The Loop Count feature allows you to repeat your animation a set number of times. This is ideal for creating longer presentations without manually duplicating content in the timeline.

You can set the loop count from the Slides section in both the Editor and the Generator:

  • Choose a loop value from 1 to 7.

  • Select Forever for an infinite loop.

Example: A 5-second animation with a loop count of 3 will play for a total of 15 seconds.

2. Using Stop Slide

If you want your animation to stop at a specific point, you can use the Stop Slide function.

  • Available underneath each slide in the editor.

  • When activated, the design will stop playing when it reaches that slide.

Tip: Setting the loop count to Once produces a similar effect to Stop Slide, but with one difference: the “Once” option plays the entire animation from start to finish, while Stop Slide can stop the playback midway.

3. Ad Platform Compliance and Best Practices

If you plan to use your animated design for online ads, pay attention to advertising platform requirements.

For example, Google Ads enforces:

  • A maximum 30-second animation duration

  • No infinite loops allowed

  • Smooth transitions and non-intrusive content

Example: If your design is 10 seconds long and you set the loop count to more than 3, it will exceed the Google Ads time limit and may be rejected.

Pro tip: Always verify the loop duration before exporting to ensure it meets the target platform’s specifications.
