How to Convert Custom Fonts to SVG for Google Ads Compatibility

Ensure your banners are Google Ads–ready by converting custom fonts to SVG. Improve compatibility and keep your designs pixel perfect.

Updated this week

Google Ads often rejects banners that use custom font integrations, which can limit your creative typography options. To overcome this, we’ve built a solution that ensures your designs remain visually consistent while meeting Google Ads requirements.

Before saving your banner in HTML5 format, simply check the "Convert custom fonts to SVG" option.

Convert custom fonts to SVG” checkbox in Bannersnack export settings to ensure Google Ads compatibility and reduce HTML5 file size.

Why convert fonts to SVG?
When enabled, this feature transforms your custom font text into scalable SVG graphics. This ensures:

  • Full Google Ads compatibility for smooth uploads.

  • Reduced file size for your HTML5 package.

  • Visual fidelity across all browsers and devices.

Note: This option is only relevant when using custom fonts. If your design contains a lot of text and you’re not publishing to Google Ads, you can leave this option unchecked.

For the best results, enable this setting before exporting to maintain both style and performance in your campaigns.
