How to Flip Images

Learn how to flip images horizontally or vertically in both the Editor and Generator to improve design layout and composition.

Updated this week

Flipping images is a quick way to adjust composition, create symmetry, or achieve a mirrored effect in your designs. The flip function is available in both the Editor and the Generator, giving you flexibility depending on your workflow.

Flip Images in the Editor

  1. Select the Image Layer
Click on the image you want to flip.

  2. Access Layer Settings
The Layer toolbar will appear when the image is selected.

  3. Use the Flip Option
Choose to flip horizontally or vertically with a single click.

This method applies the flip only to the image on the size you’re currently editing.

Flip Images in the Generator

When working in the Generator, there are two methods for flipping images:

  • Apply Flip to All Sizes – Select the image layer, then apply the flip so it appears across every size in your design set.

  • Flip in Focus Mode (Single Edit Mode) – Open the size you want to edit in Focus Mode, then use the flip option just like in the Editor. This applies the change only to that specific size.

Best Practices for Image Flipping

  • Maintain readability – Ensure that flipping doesn’t reverse text or important elements.

  • Check visual flow – A mirrored image can change how the viewer’s eye moves through the design.

  • Test across sizes – When flipping in the Generator, preview all sizes to confirm the effect works well in every layout.
