Clipping masks are a powerful way to add creative flair to your designs. They allow you to display images or videos inside custom shapes, helping you create unique, polished visuals quickly.
What Is a Clipping Mask?
A clipping mask is a shape that holds an image or a video, revealing the media in the maskβs specific outline. You can use pre-made shapes from the platform or upload your own assets to craft eye-catching designs.
How to Add a Clipping Mask
Step 1: Add a Mask
Select a mask from the Elements panel and place it on your canvas.
Step 2: Place Your Image or Video
Drag your chosen image or video from My Uploads or the Stock Library directly onto the shape. When the media snaps into place, the mask will adopt the properties of the image or video.
Adjusting Elements Inside a Mask
Change the media or mask: Drag and drop a new image, video, or shape onto the existing mask to replace it.
Crop and reposition: Use the Crop tool to adjust the focus and alignment inside the mask. This ensures your most important visual elements are highlighted.
Using Clipping Masks in the Design Generator
Clipping masks are fully supported in the Design Generator, enabling you to apply them across multiple sizes at once.
Key points to remember:
Bulk application: Masks and their linked images/videos can be applied to all sizes simultaneously.
Individual edits: If a specific size needs a different crop or positioning, double-click it to enter Focus Mode and adjust the mask for that version.
Compatibility Notes
Currently, clipping masks are compatible with uploaded GIFs but not with GIFs from integrations like Giphy.
