How to Use the Ruler Feature for Pixel-Perfect Designs

Learn how to use the ruler feature in Creatopy to align elements, measure precisely, and create pixel-perfect designs with snapping guides.

Updated this week

The Ruler feature helps you align, measure, and position elements with precision, making it easier to build clean, professional layouts. Whether you’re designing for digital use or preparing files for print, rulers and guides can save you time and ensure accuracy.

Benefits of Using the Ruler

  • Precision alignment – Position elements exactly where you want them.

  • Snap-to guides – The ruler acts like a magnet, making it easier to align objects.

  • Consistent layouts – Maintain the same structure across multiple slides.

How to Access and Use the Ruler

  1. Enable the ruler – The ruler appears around your canvas and shows measurements in your chosen unit.

  2. Add guides – Click and drag from the ruler into your canvas to create horizontal or vertical guides.

3. Snap elements to guides – Move elements close to a guide, and they’ll automatically snap into place.

Adjusting the Ruler Settings

You can customize your ruler to suit your project needs:

  • Change measurement units – Switch between pixels, inches, centimeters, or millimeters, which is especially useful for print design.

  • Hide or remove guides – Drag guides outside the canvas to delete them, or toggle them off from the Ruler settings panel.

  • Duplicate slide layouts – When you duplicate a slide, all guides remain in place, making it easy to maintain a consistent layout with different assets.
