Learn how to set up a custom domain for your Bannersnack site. Follow step-by-step instructions to register a domain and configure DNS records with CNAME settings.

Updated this week

To set up a custom domain for your site you need to go trough a few simple steps. First of all you need to choose a custom domain name and register it with a DNS provider, after this is done you need to configure your DNS records.

See more detailed instructions below:

1. Pick a domain

Pick your custom domain and register it with a DNS provider. A DNS provider is a company that allows users to buy and register a unique domain name and connect that name to an IP (Internet Protocol) address by pointing your domain name to an IP address or a different domain name. A DNS provider is also called a domain registrar or DNS host.

2. Configure your DNS records

  1. Use CNAME

  2. You need to add a CNAME record with your domain name registrar.

Create a CNAME record. Go to your domain name registrar - where you bought the domain name from - and look for something called "Add/Create CNAME". You need to add a "bannermaker" CNAME record that points to bannersnack domain name.

    CNAME (Alias): bannermaker
    Points to: enterprise.bannersnack.com

If you have problems changing NS settings through your registrar's interface you could send them an email.
