If you're looking to create HTML5 designs that you can upload on Google Ads, there are some things that you should consider before you begin.
- The design must not exceed 150 kb;
- It's duration must not exceed 30s;
- OTF and TTF files are not supported, unfortunately, meaning that custom fonts are unusable
Meeting AdWords requirements
Although meeting all these requirements seems a bit too much, do not despair. Here is how you can make sure your design will be accepted by AdWords:
First, make sure all the images you upload are properly optimized in terms of sizing (We recommend assets with a maximum size of 500 KB) and of course, we advise in using the fonts available in our library but if you really need to use custom fonts make sure you convert them to svg using the feature we provide in the save panel.
To make sure the design doesn't loop for more than 30s, you can either stop the loop by checking the "Stop slide" box in the lower-right corner of the last slide's thumbnail or change the loop settings accordingly. For example, if you have a design with a single slide that lasts 9 seconds, the loop count should not be over 3 as this will bring the total duration of the design to 27s.
In addition, after your design is downloaded in HTML5 format, you can test its compatibility with AdWords by uploading the exported ZIP file in the AdWords HTML5 validator.
Further information on the AdWords guidelines can be found in Google's image ad requirements topic.
